Medical insurance

Students that are enrolled in Alcalingua have the option of signing up for health insurance once they are registered for classes. This insurance will be valid during the time that they are studying in Alcalingua and covers general medical assistance nationwide as well as emergency hospitalization EXCLUSIVELY in the centers ascribed to the Insurance company SANITAS.

Students may also travel with their own insurance if they have it. In case of need, the Comunidad de Madrid Health Service may provide the assistance and later, pass on the invoice to the student´s insurance company.

Although it is not obligatory to have medical insurance coverage, it is recommended. Otherwise, any expenses that come from health care in the case that it is necessary will be paid directly by the student.

Medical insurance includes

· Access to all medical and surgical specialties, diagnostic testing and therapies.

· Outpatient care: medical consultations, emergencies at home, diagnostic tests, therapeutic methods and day surgery.

· Inpatient care: healthcare and surgery at the hospital.

· Oncology Care and Advice Unit: comprehensive assistence for patients who require oncology treatment or follow-up.

· Specialist Units: such as the Congenital Cardiopathy Unit, the Advanced Genetic Diagnostic Unit, etc.

· PET2/CT3: advanced technology that allows for more precise tumour detection.

· Sanitas 24 horas: telephone assistence manned by medical profesisonals.

· Sanitas Responde: personalised telephone assessment service, for persons whose health requires continued care and monitoring.

· Repatriation services included: 55 € por mes

· Repatriation services not included: 50 € por mes
